George Town Penang has a special place in my heart and I come to visit as often as possible. This Unesco Protected area is incredibly rich with history and cultural energy. I have personally visited, touched, and photographed nearly every building I paint and each piece is very precious to me. It brings me joy to know that most of my pieces will find a home on a wall somewhere in the world and continue to radiate the positive energy from this amazing part of the world!
Doors have always fascinated me. As the gateways to the home they experience everything that comes and goes - and if only they could talk they would have the most interesting stories to tell! Sometimes as I paint these old doors my imagination runs wild and I imagine the conversations between the door and the driftwood - the wood telling stories from the sea - and the door telling stories of culture and people.
Venice is of course very close to home for me. I grew up in Bologna and made many trips in my youth. There is something absolutely magical about walking the back streets of Venice and feeling the cultural richness. My Venice collection is relatively small but grows slowly as inspiration finds me.
